Tree House (Rumah Pohon)

The famous wooden tree house perched on a cliff edge in Molenteng, overlooking the turquoise sea and the Thousand Islands viewpoint.

The Molenteng Tree House (Rumah Pohon) is one of the most photographed structures in Nusa Penida — a small wooden hut built into a tree on the edge of a dramatic cliff. Behind it stretches the Thousand Islands panorama, a maze of jagged limestone outcrops rising from clear blue water.

The tree house itself can be rented as quirky accommodation, but most visitors come for the iconic photo from the path below it, with the cliffs and sea framing the hut. The walk down to the viewpoint is short but the steps are uneven, so take your time.

The Tree House is a signature stop on our East Trip and Mix Trip itineraries, usually paired with Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach nearby.
