How to visit Crystal Bay Beach in Nusa Penida
Crystal Bay is one of the easiest Nusa Penida beaches to access: the road reaches the beach and there are no stairs. The bay is wide and shallow near shore, the water is clear enough to see fish without snorkelling, and rows of coconut trees provide natural shade. It is one of the more comfortable choices for families, although children still need close supervision around the water.
Allow about 30–45 minutes for a quick look, or 60–90 minutes for a relaxed swim or shore snorkel. Stay longer if sunset is part of your plan. Coconut shade and local warungs make it easier to pause here than at the island’s steep cliff beaches.
The bay is also the launch point for snorkeling boats heading to Manta Bay and Gamat Bay. Stay close to shore when swimming or snorkelling because the channel between Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan has currents. At sunset, the beach faces the western horizon, framed by the silhouette of Nusa Lembongan.
