The essentials you should not miss
Nusa Penida packs an enormous amount into a small island. If it is your first visit, prioritise the icons: the Kelingking cliff viewpoint, Broken Beach and Angel's Billabong, Crystal Bay for swimming, and — if you can stay longer — Diamond and Atuh beaches on the east coast.
- Kelingking Beach viewpoint (the T-Rex cliff)
- Broken Beach & Angel's Billabong
- Crystal Bay — swim and sunset
- Diamond Beach & Atuh (east coast)
- Snorkeling with manta rays
Snorkeling & manta rays
The waters around Nusa Penida are some of the best in Bali for snorkeling. Boat trips visit Manta Point, where you can swim alongside manta rays year-round, plus colourful reef stops like Gamat Bay and Wall. It is the single most memorable activity on the island for many visitors.
Viewpoints & photography
Beyond the famous beaches, the island is full of clifftop viewpoints — Thousand Islands viewpoint on the east, Banah Cliff, and the Tree House at Molenteng. Early morning gives soft light and far fewer people, so plan the photogenic spots first.
How much can you do in one day?
In a single day you can realistically cover one coast well — either the west (Kelingking, Broken Beach, Crystal Bay) or the east (Diamond, Atuh, Thousand Islands). Trying to do both in a day means a lot of rough driving and little time to enjoy each stop. Two days, or an overnight, lets you see it all at a relaxed pace.
We run West, East, Mix, and snorkeling trips so you can match the day to what you most want to see. Tell us your priorities and we build the route around them.
